Overview
A university PBL (Project-Based Learning) project built with a team of 4-6 students. 3Escapy helps travelers discover events and tourist spots, and matches them with other travelers based on preferences.
The Problem
Travelers often struggle to find spots that match their interests, budget, and schedule. Existing platforms don't help connect travelers with similar preferences.
Approach
Integrated POI and places APIs for destination data. Built a content-based recommendation system matching travelers by tags, budget, and dates. Created system diagrams and managed the project backlog.
Challenges
Coordinating a team of 4-6 people with different schedules and skill levels. Integrating multiple external APIs with inconsistent data formats. Designing a recommendation algorithm that balances multiple preference dimensions.
Results
Working prototype demonstrated to faculty. Learned team collaboration, requirements management, and system design.
